Aim of the event

This webinar provided attendees with a comprehensive overview over the practical aspects applicants need to consider when applying to the 2022 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks Call. The call will close on 15 November 2022.

This call provides funding to consortium of universities, research institutions, research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors to develop a doctoral programme in a research and innovation area by working collaboratively on a research project. The consortium is free to identify the area in which the research and training programme is needed and can include partners from all over the world.

Doctoral Networks sets out to develop entrepreneurial, innovative doctoral candidates, by equipping the researchers with the right combination of research-related and transferable competences. The Doctoral Network ultimately aims to enhance the recruited researchers’ long term career perspectives, both within and outside academia.

Who should attend?

This webinar is aimed at researchers and other staff in UK academic and non-academic organisations, including but not limited to NGOs, charities, policy organisations, industries, SMEs, and Research Infrastructures, who are interested in participating in the 2022 MSCA DN Call, as well as applicants who intend to apply with a UK consortium partner.

Programme outline

Alice Hurst, Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) detailed the current state-of-play of the UK association to Horizon Europe. Then, Dr. Branwen Hide, Senior European Advisor, UKRO, gave a comprehensive overview over the process of proposal submission and evaluation for the 2022 MSCA DN Call. Subsequently, participants had the opportunity to ask questions in a dedicated Q&A session. UKRO thanks Alice Hurst for her time, and all participants for attending.

These webinars are organised by UKRO in its capacity as UK NCP for the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
