As part of the continued evolution of UKRI’s support for Horizon Europe, we are taking the next step in the transition from the UKRO brand to UKRI Horizon Europe.
Following our earlier announcement outlining our plans to gradually phase out the UKRO brand, we are introducing a number of changes designed to provide a more joined-up and accessible experience for the UK research and innovation community.
These changes reflect a more integrated approach to UKRI’s Horizon Europe support, bringing together National Contact Point (NCP) services delivered by UKRI, including Innovate UK, the UKRI Horizon Europe Guarantee team, and the expertise of our colleagues in UKRI Brussels, who provide strategic insight and engagement with the European research and innovation landscape.
UKRO LinkedIn becomes UKRI Horizon Europe
The UKRO LinkedIn page has now been renamed ‘UKRI Horizon Europe.’
The UKRI Horizon Europe LinkedIn page will continue to be a key source of information for anyone interested in Horizon Europe, sharing:
- the latest Horizon Europe news and policy updates
- funding opportunities and events
- guidance and resources from the UKRI Horizon Europe team – including NCP webinars
- updates from the UKRI Horizon Europe Guarantee team
- news and insights from UKRI Brussels
- success stories and information to help UK researchers and innovators engage with Horizon Europe.
If you already follow the UKRO LinkedIn page, you do not need to take any action. The page has simply transitioned to its new name and will continue to provide regular updates under the UKRI Horizon Europe identity.
Changes to enquiries
As part of this transition, the UKRO mailbox will no longer be managed.
If you have a query about Horizon Europe, please contact the relevant UK National Contact Point (NCP), who can provide free, expert advice across the different parts of the programme. You can find the appropriate NCP for your area on the GOV.UK website.
Changes to the UKRO Portal
We are working on a new UKRI Horizon Europe website that will replace the UKRO portal. The new website is being developed to meet the needs of all users, at all stages of the Horizon engagement and funding journey. We hope to launch the new website in October 2026, and during September there will be some changes that appear on the portal site as a necessary part of this project. In the interim, all existing email update and NCP newsletter subscriptions will continue to run as normal.
Continuing to support UK participation in Horizon Europe
While our branding and web presence is changing, our commitment remains the same.
By bringing together the expertise of the UKRI National Contact Points, the UKRI Horizon Europe Guarantee team and UKRI Brussels under a single UKRI Horizon Europe identity, we aim to make it easier for researchers, innovators and research support professionals to access the latest news, guidance and expert support throughout their Horizon Europe journey.
We look forward to continuing to support the UK research and innovation community under our new identity as UKRI Horizon Europe.
