UKRO transitions to UKRI Horizon Europe: new website going live in November 2026

As part of the continued evolution of UKRI’s support for Horizon Europe, we are now formally closing the UKRO portal and launching the new UKRI Horizon Europe website.

In our earlier announcement on the changes towards delivering a more integrated approach to UKRI’s Horizon Europe support, we informed you that we were bringing together National Contact Point (NCP) services delivered by UKRI, the UKRI Horizon Europe Guarantee team, and the expertise of our colleagues in UKRI Brussels, into one unified team.

The UKRI Horizon Europe website will be the ‘front door’ to access information and services to support your Horizon journey, and will supersede the services provided by the UKRO portal, the Innovate UK Business Connect Horizon hub, and will host information on the UKRI Horizon Guarantee.

What happens next?

The UKRO portal will be switched off from Wednesday 21st October to allow for site maintenance and testing and allow us to transition to the new UKRI Horizon Europe website.

The new website will be live from Monday 2 November. Once it is live, ukro.ac.uk will automatically redirect visitors to the new website. We will send out updates through the UKRI Horizon Europe LinkedIn page and our email update service.

The website transition also involves using a new email update provider. We are shutting down the MailPoet service and moving all updates and newsletters to GovDelivery.

Your existing subscriptions and preferences will transfer to the new service. You do not need to take any action if you want to continue receiving the same updates.

If you no longer want to receive these emails, or would like to change the updates you receive before the move, you must update your subscription preferences or unsubscribe by 21st October. You will also be able to manage your preferences through the UKRI Horizon Europe website after it launches.

We will email subscribers again when the new website is live.
