UKRI has published a website to provide an overview of their ongoing support for the UK research and innovation sector during the current delay in associating to Horizon Europe. This website also contains summary statistics of the Horizon Europe Guarantee funding allocated so far and highlights several research projects funded under the Guarantee.
Background
To support the UK research and innovation sector during this continued period of uncertainty, the UK Government has extended the scope of its Horizon Europe Guarantee to cover calls for proposals with deadlines in the first quarter of 2023.
As reported by UKRO previously, this announcement reiterated the message that the Government continues to push for the association to EU programmes such as Horizon Europe but that time is running out. The Government’s priority is to support the UK’s research and development sector during the ongoing period of uncertainty and to ensure strong international collaboration opportunities for UK research.
The UK government’s commitment to seeking association to Horizon Europe was reiterated by George Freeman, Minister of State in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), earlier this week.
UKRO’s factsheet on UK participation in EU programmes has been updated with the latest information. You are invited to disseminate this factsheet within your institutions and to your European and international partners.
