The Expert Group on the Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation Started its Third Mandate

The Expert Group on the Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation (ESIR) has recently started its third mandate.

The ESIR group comprises 16 high-level experts from different backgrounds and is chaired by Katherine Richardson, Professor in Biological Oceanography, Globe Institute & Leader Sustainability Science Centre at the University of Copenhagen.

The experts will continue to co-design policy briefs to provide the Commission and policy-makers with strategic advice on developing an evidence-based, transformative R&I policy that drives sustainability transitions in Europe. The group will also organise outreach activities to engage with relevant stakeholders.

During the 2022-2023 mandate, the ESIR group produced five publications and participated in several public events to discuss and exchange ideas.
