The Research Executive Agency (REA) has provided UKRO with guidance on how to add the family allowance to ongoing Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF).
Should the fellow acquire family obligations during the action, then the beneficiary is responsible for ensuring that the fellow receives the family allowance they are entitled to from this point onward.
As outlined in the guidance note, the beneficiaries can provide the allowance either from the MSCA project’s Institutional Unit contributions or from their own non-MSCA funds. In both cases, these costs can then subsequently be charged to and reimbursed from the project budget.
The beneficiaries must also encode a new mobility declaration, which must start from the period at which the researcher became eligible for the allowance. Based on the data provided in the mobility declaration, the family allowance will then be taken into account in the next payment.
