MSCA Guidelines on Supervision

The European Commission has revised the MSCA Supervision Guidelines  and launched them during the annual conference of Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) on 22 March in Krakow, Poland.

The guidelines on supervision are designed to support researchers, supervisors, and institutions to ensure effective and enriching supervision throughout the duration of the MSCA research projects in a healthy research climate. The guidelines are in line with the European Charter for Researchers, and they are supported with an annex, which provides a collection of best practices to support individuals and institutions in implementing the MSCA Guidelines on Supervision.

Specific provisions for supervisors, researchers and institutions are provided, on aspects such as

  • integration of researchers
  • research support
  • career development
  • mentoring and wellbeing of researchers
  • managing expectations, communication and conflict resolution
  • recognition, training and professional development of supervisors
