On 12 May, the European Commission has announced the results of the 2024 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) call for Staff Exchanges.
The Commission will assign €99.5 million for a total of 83 projects, promoting cooperation between academic and non-academic organisations in the EU and around the globe, boosting innovation and knowledge transfer.
The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 329 applications for this call for project proposals, of which 324 were eligible and were evaluated. 83 projects were selected. This result corresponds to a 26% success rate. Selected projects are coordinated by organisations in 17 countries.
UK organisations will coordinate 11 of the selected proposals and take part in 44, in third place after organisations based in Spain and Italy who will coordinate 16 each and take part in 47 and 45 projects each.
Frontier research in all fields
Selected projects span all scientific disciplines and will research areas including
- advanced health, AI, sustainability, and deep tech, covering areas like cancer diagnostics, climate resilience, neurodegenerative disease research, and circular economy solutions
- quantum physics, inclusive education, democratic governance, food security, and cultural heritage valorisation
- developing digital information models and 3D databases to valorise cultural heritage routes and architectural heritage in European border territories and improve sustainable planning and management
The 2025 call for MSCA Staff Exchanges is now open for submissions and will close on 8 October 2025.
