JPI AMR: AMR Interventions 2024 Call Now Open

The Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI AMR) has launched its new transnational call entitled ‘Interventions Moving Forward to Promote Action to counteract the emergence and spread of bacterial and fungal resistance and to improve treatments‘ (AMR Interventions 2024).

The call will fund international collaborative research projects aiming to improve, compare, and evaluate the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and uptake of existing interventions against bacterial or fungal infections and/or to design new interventions against fungal infections. The overall objective is to take action against the growing global threat of increased spread of antimicrobial (antibacterial and antifungal) resistance,

21 agencies and organisations from 19 JPI AMR member countries will participate in this call, including UKRI (MRC, BBSRC, AHRC, EPSRC, ESRC, NERC, STFC). The total estimated budget is €17.7 million. UK organisations are eligible to apply for funding and detailed information is available on the dedicated UKRI website.

The deadline for pre-proposals is on 4 March 2024 and full proposals will need to be submitted by 9 July 2024. Call documents are available on the JPI AMR call website. An online match-making tool has been created to facilitate networking and the creation of consortia.

The virtual event for applicants will take place on 24 January 2024 (12:00-13:30 UK time) and prior online registration is required. Participants will receive a Zoom link to the webinar upon registration.
