The Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) Cultural Heritage and the JPI Climate, together with the Belmont Forum, have jointly launched the “Climate and Cultural Heritage” call for collaborative research projects. The deadline for submitting a proposal is on Friday 8 September 2023.
The call aims to support transdisciplinary and convergent research approaches on cultural heritage and climate change, to foster collaboration among the research community across several regions, and to contribute to knowledge advances and policy change at the global level. Proposals need to address at least one of the three call themes:
- The Impact of Climate Change on Cultural Heritage
- Cultural Heritage as a Resource for Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
- Sustainable Solutions for Heritage.
Consortia must be composed of a minimum of three Principal Investigators (PIs) from three different countries participating in the call. The call is jointly supported by funding agencies in 19 countries, including the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in the UK.
Call documents and guidance, including information for UK applicants, are available on the call page.
Information event and matchmaking platform
A virtual information event will be held on 16 May 2023 and an online matchmaking platform will then be made available for prospective applicants. Researchers interested in the webinar and the matchmaking platform can sign up using an online form.
