Horizon Europe Guarantee: UKRI Guidance Has Been Updated for Euratom Call “HORIZON-EURATOM-2023-NRT-01”

Following UKRO’s recent article with information that UK organisations applying to Euratom call HORIZON-EURATOM-2023-NRT-01 should do so as Associated Partners (not as beneficiaries), UKRI has updated its Horizon Europe Guarantee guidance to include further advice for applicants submitting bids to this call.

The following new information related to Euratom call HORIZON-EURATOM-2023-NRT-01 is included in the document:

  • confirmation that UK entities should apply as Associated Partners, not beneficiaries (p.5)
  • explanation of the application process to the Guarantee for successful applicants (p.7)

UK organisations interested in submitting applications to this Euratom call are strongly encouraged to become familiar with the updated guidance.

Applying as an Associated Partner

As a reminder for subscribers, organisations applying to Euratom calls as Associated Partners cannot provide details of their budget in the budget table (Part A of the application) in the same way as the beneficiaries can (e.g. under each budget category such as ‘Personnel’ costs or ‘Purchase costs’) – these fields will not be active for them.

While Associated Partners do not request a financial contribution from Euratom (since they are not eligible to receive EU funding), in the budget table they should still indicate their total costs in the relevant column(s) either under “own resources” – when self-funding – or under “financial contributions” – when funded by a national funding body.

They can also provide further details of their expenditure in the technical annex (Part B) of the application form when describing the relevant project activities.
