The European Commission has announced the first winners of the first EU Award for Gender Equality Champions.
The winners include:
- Sustainable Gender Equality Champion – Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
- Sustainable Gender Equality Champion – Karolinska, Sweden
- Newcomer Gender Equality Champion – Maynooth University, Ireland
- Inclusive Gender Equality Champion – South East Technological University, Ireland
The new award sets out to recognise and celebrate the outstanding results achieved in the implementation of gender equality by academic and research organisations. It also sets out to increase the public awareness of the importance of addressing gender equality in academic and research organisations and will create a community of champions to inspire others.
The prize was open to higher education establishments and research organisations based in EU Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe (including candidates).
