The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have agreed on the annual EU budget for 2025, which will amount to €199.4 billion.
The 2025 budget will be used by the EU to deliver on its political commitments, in line with the changes agreed earlier this year in the mid-term revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Funds will be directed to where they will make the greatest difference, in cooperation and in line with the needs of EU Member States as well as EU partners around the world.
The 2025 budget will also continue to finance the EU’s flagship research & innovation programme, Horizon Europe. €21,480.1 million has been allocated to the EU priority area Single Market, Innovation and Digital. Horizon Europe will receive the lion’s share of this amount, with an allocated €12,762.3 million.
