The ERC Synergy Grants 2025 call closed for applications on 6 November 2024.
Some preliminary data on the submitted proposals are:
- The ERC received 712 proposals, marking a 30% increase compared to last year’s call when 548 applications were submitted, and an even more significant 80% rise compared to the 2023 call when 395 proposals were received.
- 754 or 30% of principal investigators involved in the proposals are women – the same percentage as in the previous call.
In the 2025 Work Programme, the ERC earmarked €500 million for an estimated 48 Synergy Grants. The ERC is now starting the evaluation of the proposals. The projects selected for funding will likely be announced in the autumn of 2025.
