UKRO understands that the ERC President has written to relevant UKRI Guarantee Grant holders to confirm that they can utilise ERC branding and join the Association of ERC Grantees.
Further to UK’s confirmation in September that it will be associating to the Horizon Europe programme from 2024 onwards, the ERC President, Maria Leptin, has sent a letter to each UK Principal Investigator leading a project that would have been funded under the ERC Work Programmes for 2021-2023, but which was instead funded by the UKRI Guarantee under the transitional measures.
The letter assures these grant holders that in-spite of this fact, they are still entitled to refer to their project as ‘selected by the ERC, funded by UKRI’ and use the ERC logo in this context.
The letter also indicates that the Association of ERC Grantees (AERG) welcomes these grant holders to become a member based on the strength of their project having been selected, even though they were not ultimately funded by the ERC.
