The European Innovation Council (EIC) has selected 53 new projects under its bottom up 2023 Pathfinder Open call to develop cutting-edge technologies in a wide range of fields, including health, artificial intelligence, computing, environment, and energy.
The successful projects were chosen from 783 submitted eligible proposals, with the highest number of selected applicants coming from France, Spain, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. Participants (343 in total from 33 countries) mostly come from higher education institutions and research organisations, with SMEs accounting for around 18% of participants. UK organisations coordinate two of these projects.
The selected proposals will receive €170 million of EU funding and will also have access to tailor-made coaching under the EIC Business Acceleration Services.
