The six-month Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU will commence on 1 January 2025 and is the first in the so-called Thirteenth ‘Presidency Trio’ that includes Denmark (July-December 2025) and Cyprus (January-June 2026).
The same trio held the presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2011.
While the trio programme has not yet been published, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda has said that Poland will focus on strengthening Euro–Atlantic ties through economic and security cooperation. According to President Duda, another priority of Poland’s EU presidency is participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
UKRO will link any updates on the upcoming trio programme to this page.
