The COST Association has announced the 60 new COST Actions which were successful in the 2023 open call.
The 60 new COST Actions cover topics as varied as managing Artificial Intelligence in archaeology to advancing understanding of vascular liver disease.
50% of all Actions cover at least two fields of science and technology, while 17% cover at least three fields.
Natural sciences lead the way as the most represented field of science (represented in 47% of the Actions), followed by Social Sciences (37%), Engineering and Technology (27%), Medical and Health Sciences (23%), Humanities (23%) and Agricultural Science (12%).
Other key statistics on the successful Actions are:
- 18.3% of the main proposers are Young Researchers and Innovators
- 36.6% of the main proposers are women
- 63% of the proposals feature participants from industry/SMEs
- 31.6% of main proposers come from an Inclusiveness Target Country ( ITC)
- 55% of the future networks have attracted participants from all over the world (COST International Partner Countries/Near Neighbour Countries and COST Partner Member)
The success rate for applications in this call was 11.5%, with the UK leading on 3 Actions. Further details are available on the COST website.
On Thursday 13 June 2024 these new COST Actions will be available on the COST website, allowing additional interested parties the opportunity to apply to join.
Potential applicants are also reminded that the COST 2024 call remains open for new Actions, with the COST Association publishing supporting information as part of their ‘6-month countdown’ to the 2024 call deadline.
