CONNECTS-UK is a collaborative project established by EU scientific diasporas and native scientists. Funded by the European Union, they aim to strengthen EU-UK scientific collaboration and research mobility.
The new ‘Tandem Scheme’ will help pair those individuals interested in a move to the UK (‘explorers’) with a well-established EU researcher already living and working in the UK to facilitate their transition into the UK research ecosystem.
The call for new Explorers is now open. As an Explorer, you will:
- Obtain support from an established EU researcher in the UK.
- Learn about insights into the UK’s research culture, career opportunities, and administrative processes.
- Receive guidance on the practical aspects of living and working in the UK.
- Expand your professional network within the EU research community in the UK.
- Contribute with your experience to the development of a “Guide for EU researchers coming to the UK” – a resource designed to help other researchers.
- Contribute to building a diverse and supportive platform for EU researchers in the UK.
Eligibility to become an Explorer:
- EU researcher actively working within academia, industry, or non-profit organisations.
- Any research field.
- Any career stage (we also welcome first-year PhD students or Masters by Research students).
- Recently relocated to the UK or planning to relocate soon as a researcher.
- Maximum of 6 months in the UK (if already living in the UK at the time of applying).
- Maximum of 3 months before relocating to the UK (if applying before coming to the UK).
Applications close 3 June, 2024.
