The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 1616 proposals to its 2025 MSCA Doctoral Networks call, which closed on 25 November 2025. This represents an increase of 14% compared to the 2024 call when 1417 proposals were submitted.
The REA received proposals from coordinators based in 36 countries, with the UK leading the table with 233 applications (~14% of the total submitted proposals).
Through this call, the European Commission is expected to fund over 150 collaborative projects, with an indicative budget of €597.8 million.
The evaluation results will be announced by April 2026, with successful projects expected to sign grant agreements by the end of July 2026. The first successful projects are likely to start as early as September next year.
