MSCA COFUND 2023 Call Submission Rates

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND 2023 call closed on 8 February 2024. The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 106 proposals, which are distributed among the two MSCA COFUND schemes as follows:

  • COFUND Doctoral Programmes:  49 proposals
  • COFUND Postdoctoral Programmes: 57 proposals.

Six UK-based institutions submitted proposals to this call.

The Commission is expected to fund around 30 projects and up to 1,000 researchers with an indicative budget of €96.5 million.

The REA will inform applicants about the outcome of the evaluation process in June 2024, according to the indicative timeline.

Results of previous MSCA COFUND calls

As reported by UKRO previously, the REA received 116 applications for the 2021 MSCA COFUND call, out of which 26 projects were funded. UKRO understands that, in total, 15 UK organisations are involved in eight successful 2021 MSCA COFUND postdoctoral fellowship programmes and ten UK organisations are involved in six 2021 MSCA COFUND doctoral training programmes.

For the 2022 MSCA COFUND Call, the REA received 107 proposals, out of which 30 proposals were successful. UKRO understands that UK entities are involved in 114 evaluated proposals as partners, and participated in 21 successful proposals. This was also reported by UKRO previously.
