The ERC has shared the preliminary submission data related to the 2024 Consolidator Grant call that closed on 12 December 2023.
The data published shows that the ERC received 2,313 applications to the call – an increase of 8.6% compared to the previous year.
The highest number of applications was submitted in the domain of Physical Sciences and Engineering (933), followed by Social Science and Humanities (730) and Life Sciences (650).
Female researchers submitted 39.9% of proposals, which is a higher percentage than in the previous call (35.7%).
The ERC has a budget of €584 million for an estimated 291 Consolidator Grants in 2024. As per the indicative call timeline, projects selected for interviews are expected to be contacted in the summer of 2024.
