ERC Consolidator Grant 2022 Call Results

The European Research Council (ERC) has published the results of the 2022 Consolidator Grant call today.

In total, 2,222 proposals were submitted, of which 321 projects were selected by experts. This corresponds to a success rate of 14.4%, and a total funding of €657 million.

133 ERC Consolidator grants were awarded in the Physical Sciences and Engineering domain, 97 in the Social Sciences and Humanities domain and 91 in the Life Sciences domain.

45 of these newly selected ERC Principal Investigators have listed UK host institutions in their applications. On this basis, the UK is the second most popular choice for PIs to carry out their ERC project, behind Germany (62) and ahead of France (41). In the 2021 Consolidator Grant call, the UK was the second-highest choice for PIs, with 41 awards.

Female researchers won 35% of the grants, with male researchers making up 65% of awardees.
