Aim of the event
The UK Research Office (UKRO), in its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the Horizon 2020 European Research Council (ERC), is holding a webinar on the interview portion of the ERC evaluation, specifically for the 2020 Consolidator and Synergy grants.
The ERC has announced that applicants who have passed Step 1 of the 2020 Consolidator Grant evaluation or Step 2 of the 2020 Synergy Grant evaluation will have an online interview with their evaluation panel, consisting of a short oral presentation followed by a Q&A session with the panel.
This webinar will provide participants with information on the role that interviews play in the ERC evaluation process, where evaluators draw their questions from and how to frame and shape responses with reference to the proposal and the evaluation criteria. It will also look at how to conduct mock interviews and give some specific guidance for online interviews via Zoom.
Who should attend?
The sessions are aimed at researchers and support staff who have submitted or are supporting grants that have made it past Stage 1 of the 2020 Consolidator Grant or Stage 2 of the 2020 Synergy Grant and are expecting interviews in September/October 2020. Also welcome are those organising or participating in mock panels for these ERC candidates.
