What we offer

Our European advisors give expert support on applying for and managing Horizon Europe funding. We also provide specialist advice to research managers (called European Liaison Officers – or ELO – at UKRO).

Any UK university, charity or public sector research organisation interested in accessing EU funding can subscribe to our services.

You can find out if your organisation is already signed up by checking our list of UKRO subscribers.

If you work for another kind of organisation, you may be able to apply for associate membership. Please contact us for further information.

We also provide free advice on funding from the European Research Council, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and Widening Participation parts of Horizon Europe, as well as COST. You do not need a UKRO subscription to access this support.

Services and benefits

Depending on your role, we offer a range of services and benefits to support your research aims.

Research managers/European Liaison Officers

If you are a research manager (European Liaison Officer) at a subscribing organisation, you will be able to unlock plenty of benefits through your UKRO subscription.

These include a dedicated enquiry service, with individual support available year-round. You will get a European advisor at UKRO who can help you understand EU policies, programmes and funding opportunities.

You will also receive email alerts containing early Horizon Europe funding insights.

We organise events about the EU funding landscape, including specialist training courses, webinars and focus groups.

Our European advisors will also arrange an annual event for your organisation. They will work with you to provide expert training and one-to-one sessions tailored to your needs.

All users in subscribed organisations

If you are a researcher at an institution with a UKRO subscription, you will get access to professional advice, useful resources and guidance, including:

  • Email alerts with tailored news articles on the latest EU funding and policy developments.
  • Factsheets on different strands and aspects of EU research and innovation activities.
  • Access to regular Horizon Europe training and information events.
  • A place to meet and work in Brussels, where you can use our dedicated workspaces for European project meetings or as part of your trip to Brussels
