ERC Starting Grants Information and Proposal Writing Event (King's College London)

In its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the European Research Council (ERC), the UK Research Office, in partnership with King's College London, is holding an event for researchers who are interested in applying for the 2017 ERC Starting Grants call at King's College London on Tuesday 6 September 2016.

Aim of session

The session will provide participants with a detailed practical overview of the ERC Starting Grants scheme. Participants should gain a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues they are required to address in planning, writing and costing a proposal, as well as tips for preparing for interview. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions. Attendance will be free of charge, thanks to the support from King's College London.

Who should attend?

The sessions are aimed at researchers based in, or moving to, the UK who are planning to submit a proposal to the 2017 ERC Starting Grants call.

The scheme is designed to support Principal Investigators (PIs) at the stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. To be eligible for the 2017 call, the PI must have been awarded their PhD between two and seven years prior to 1 January 2017 (extendable in certain strict cases).

The event at King's College London on 6 September will start at 10:30 and finish by 13:00 (with registration from 10:00). Further information on the venue will be provided to delegates once they have registered.
