MSCA - Individual Fellowships 2020 Call Information Webinar Series: Session 3: Process for Submission and Evaluation

The UK Research Office (UKRO), in its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), is holding a series of information webinars for organisations and individuals interested in applying to the 2020 MSCA Individual Fellowships call (opened on 8 April 2020 with a call deadline of 9 September 2020) These webinars are intended to replace the NCP information event which usually takes place in the UK. The third session will cover the submission process and evaluation, including and changes from the 2019 call.

Details of the other two sessions are as follows;

Aim of the webinar

This session will focus on the MSCA Individual Fellowship submission process, including novelties from 2019 and tips on how to address the evaluation criteria. An experienced MSCA Evaluator will give an account of their experience.  As with the previous session, it is expected that participants will understand the bases of the MSCA Individual Fellowships scheme.

Aim of the Individual Fellowships under MSCA

Individual Fellowships (IF) are aimed at researchers who already have a doctorate or equivalent research experience (more than 4 years full-time research experience). They help experienced researchers to advance their careers and gain new skills through training, international mobility and optional intersectoral secondments. European Fellowships are held in EU Member States and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries and are open to researchers either coming to Europe or moving within Europe.

In addition to the subject panels for European Fellowships, there are specific panels for those seeking to work in non-academic organisation (Society & Enterprise Panel), returning from a career break (Career Restart Panel) or wish to return to Europe after a period abroad (Reintegration Panel). In addition Global Fellowships are based on an initial secondment to a third country and a compulsory 12 month return phase in a European host organisation.

Who should attend?

The events are aimed at researchers and support staff in UK academic and non-academic organisations, including industry, who are planning to submit or helping individuals submit a proposal to the Individual Fellowship call.
