Proposal Writing Sessions - Marie Curie Actions

The UK Research Office – in its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the Marie Curie Actions – and in partnership with the Manchester University, University of Newcastle, Cardiff University, University of Strathclyde and University of Reading - held a series of proposal writing sessions for UK-based applicants for: Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships; Incoming International Fellowships;  Outgoing International Fellowships; Excellence Teams; Excellence Chairs and Transfer of Knowledge actions.

Background

The Marie Curie Fellowships are designed for industry (including SMEs) , universities, institutes of technology and research organisations. They support the training and mobility of researchers, within the context of promoting excellence in European Research. They are funded by the European Commission under Framework Programme 6 (FP6) for European Research & Technological Development.

The Marie Curie Fellowships provide an opportunity to develop you and/or your research teams’ research skills and training capacity, by building on industrial and academic expertise within Europe and across the world, through staff exchanges, secondments and studentships.

Aim of proposal writing sessions

The aim of each session is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues they are required to address in planning and writing their proposal. There will be two different types of session: one focusing on the Individual and Excellence actions and the other on the Transfer of Knowledge Action

Who should attend?

The session will be of particular interest to UK-based researchers who are interested in and/or are planning to submit a proposal for one of the forthcoming deadlines: Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships, Incoming International Fellowships, Outgoing International Fellowships, Excellence Teams, Excellence Chairs and Transfer of Knowledge.

Attendance is free thanks to support from the hosting Universities and the UK Research Office.

Programme outline

Each session will provide an outline of the application form and in-depth guidance on planning and writing your Marie Curie proposals. The session will be based on feedback from evaluators (from current and previous calls), and endeavour to respond to specific areas of interest identified by participants in the on-line registration form.
